Frequently asked questions
We understand that reaching out for psychological support can bring up a lot of questions. Below are some of the most common queries to help you get started.
How do I get a referral?
If you’d like to access psychological support at Sit With Me Psychology, you can begin by speaking with your GP. They can prepare a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which allows you to access up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year.
When arranging your referral, please ensure it is addressed to Stacey Linton, at Sit With Me Psychology.
Once you have your referral and MHCP, you can contact me directly via the phone number or email listed on the Contact page, and I will then be in contact with you to book you in for your first appointment.
Your GP is also able to directly email your MHCP to admin@sitwithmepsychology, and I will then be in touch.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
No referral is needed if you prefer to see me as a private client. You are welcome to book sessions without a Mental Health Care Plan, and may be eligible for private health insurance rebates depending on your provider and level of cover.
How are sessions delivered?
You can choose the session format that works best for you. I offer:
In-person sessions at the Bundoora office
Telehealth appointments via secure video or phone
Telehealth can be a flexible and convenient option for clients who prefer to connect from home or who are unable to attend in person.
What are the fees?
My current fees for sessions as a General Psychologist are:
Initial consultation: $225 - ($126.05 out of pocket)
Ongoing sessions: $215 - ($116.05 out of pocket)
Medicare rebate: $98.95 per session (with a valid MHCP)
Private clients without a referral are welcome.
Please check with your private health insurance provider regarding any applicable rebates.
What is your cancellation policy?
As a general guide, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
This allows time to offer the slot to someone else who may be waiting.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee, which is not covered by Medicare.
Please feel free to reach out if you need clarification on this policy.
Is there a waitlist?
Depending on current demand, there may be a waitlist to access sessions.
To find out about current wait times, please submit an enquiry through the Contact page.
I’ll do my best to respond and keep you informed.
What are your working days and response times?
I currently work on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, so please note that response times to emails or enquiries may take up to a week. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Still have questions?
